Badminton betting is great fun and Europe hosts leagues and championships all year round making it more than just a summer sport worth betting on. Badminton players score points by hitting a shuttlecock over a net and in to their opponent's half of the court, as such it takes wits and timing, strength and speed as well as a dose of finesse. More sophisticated players also deceive their opponents by making it seem as if they've hit the shuttlecock in a certain direction, when it actually has a different trajectory.

Badminton started life as a game which was played in British India and was invented by the British Military soldiers who were stationed there. A club in Bath standardised the rules in 1887 and the game as we know it today began to take shape. Because breezes and strong wind can interfere with a shuttlecock, official and professional games are always held indoors, usually in custom built badminton courts.

There are many exciting badminton competitions held around the world each year. There's the Thomas Cup (Mens' World Championships) supported by the Badminton World Federation (BWF), The Uber Cup which is the equivalent for female badminton players and finally the Sudriman Cup which is mixed sex and where players compete for BWF rankings and prestige rather than prize money.

There is also the BWF Super Series which is played in 12 countries around the world, other smaller events and championships and Badminton sometimes even features in the Summer Olympics. That means there are tons of opportunities for you to place your bets and win big with badminton!
