:: Australian Rules Betting
Australian Rules (which refers to Australian Rules Football) is so much fun to bet on. The game's rules are different, obviously, but this type of football is still exciting and it's easy to find yourself a favourite team.
Australian Rules Football is different to UK football in many ways, for example while traditional UK football has teams of 11 players per side; each Aussie Rules team has 18 players instead. There are also an additional 4 players who are interchanged with their team mates during play if needed. Both the Aussie Rules ball and the playing field are elliptical like a rugby ball and like rugby players are able to hold the ball in their hands or kick the ball and even run with it.
However, the ball isn't allowed to be held when stationary or thrown between players. To score, a player has to kick the ball between the opposite team's goal posts much like with Rugby. Though, unlike the UK version of football there's no offside rule and it is usually played as a contact sport.
Since the 1960s hundreds of matches have been played between the Aussie Rules teams and the UK's own Gaelic Football teams (many of which are from Ireland) using compromised rule sets known as 'International Rules' and these matches can be great fun to place bets on. Betting on Aussie Rules or Gaelic matches is easy too and you can do it online, as well as see odds and access websites where you can watch the games!
