The UEFA Champions League is an annual UEFA-organised cup competition for Europe's top football clubs and generally regarded as the world's most prestigious club trophy. Real Madrid and Milan have been the most successful sides in the competition's current format, with 3 wins each. Along with Barcelona's 2 wins, this makes Spain the most successful nation. England's Manchester United have also succeeded twice. Italian clubs have appeared in 9 finals, English clubs in 7 and Spanish clubs in 6.
