:: Horse Racing Grand National Betting
The Grand National is always a huge event in the annual horse racing calendar and it encourages more people than ever to place a bet and enjoy the fun. As such there are tons of different types of bet that you can place with a variety of great odds available online and off. When April 10th 2010 rolls around make sure that you have got the best bet available.
At the moment the odds seem to be favouring State of Play, ahead of the rest of the field with odds of 20/1. The next batch of predicted front runners include famous faces like Comply or Die and so betting should be very interesting.
Last year's Grand National saw a whopping £900,000 up for grabs and with over 600 million people watching worldwide it is always a veritable media circus. Last year saw Mon Mome, ridden by Liam Treadwell, take home the main prize. It was a shocking victory considering that the rider was considered to be a rookie and the odds of such a victory were 100 to 1 before the race was run. Over £250 million was gambled at 2009's event, despite the bite of the recession and some lucky gamblers were able to take home considerably more than they put in if they banked on the unlikely winner.
This year should hopefully be just as exciting and controversy always surrounds the event. Mon Mome has received considerably lower odds with 25/1 available at the moment, suggesting that the bookies have taken note of the 2009 performance and accepted that this could be a horse to watch. However, betting on the Grand National can always be a bit of a lottery when false starts, the weather and mid race pile ups come in to play.
