:: Italy Lega Pro Betting
The Italian Lega Pro Prima Divisione is the third highest in the country's professional football league system. Originally founded in 1935 as Serie C and then changing its name to Serie C1 in 1978, the league became known as the Lega Pro Prima Divisione in 2008 after a shake-up of Italian football. Consisting of 36 teams that are divided geographically into two groups of 18 clubs, the Lega Pro Prima Divisione promotes a total of four teams to Serie B and relegates a further six teams to the Lega Pro Seconda Divisione. Although this may appear confusing to those who are more familiar with a traditional English hierarchy, the Lega Pro Prima Divisione offers plenty of opportunities for sports betting and is generally thought to be one of the most entertaining leagues at its respective level.

The current Lega Pro Prima Divisione Champions are Gallipoli Calcio, who secured promotion to Serie B after the 2008-09 season. In respect to how teams are promoted and relegated in Lega Pro Prima Divisione, it is important to remember that the division is essentially split into two distinct leagues. However, the rules pertaining to each league are the same, so in terms of betting there is little uncertainty over who can do what. Indeed, each half of the Lega Pro Prima Divisione promotes one team automatically into Serie B with the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th placed teams taking part in a play-off to determine the final promotion. A similar structure is employed inversely to decide which teams are relegated into the Lega Pro Seconda Divisione. Novara Calcio is the current bookmaker's favourite to win the Group A section of the Lega Pro Prima Divisione, whilst Hellas Verona are joint favourites in Group B.
